Australian songwriting marvel Liz Stringer will make her first appearance in the USA this February as part of the Folk Alliance International (FAI) Conference in Kansas City. Stringer has been invited to appear at the conference’s official showcase, a prestigious event which offers a platform to emerging and established performers to launch their music into the North American folk and festival scene.
Liz’s powerful and emotive live performances and melodically rich, story-based songs have earned her a place among Australia’s most respected songwriters and performers. Her latest album ‘Warm in the Darkness’ was met with wide acclaim upon its release in August 2012 and was short-listed for the celebrated Australian Music Prize in 2013.
In support of her trip, Stringer will host a special fundraiser show at the Yarra on Thursday 13 February. She will be joined on stage by Tim Keegan (bass) and John Bedggood (fiddle). With special guest Dave Garnham (NT).
